Gentle Yoga, Meditation + Pranayama

A class where gentle yoga, guided meditation
and pranayama breathing help calm the mind

Yoga doesn’t have to be fancy to be effective in supporting your well-being. Often, after many years of faster Vinyasa flow and Power yoga classes, our body needs something different. Maybe you’re recovering from injury or simply getting older (anyone?) and stronger classes — all those Upward Facing Dogs, Downward Facing Dogs — are not working so well for you anymore. Or maybe you’re brand new to yoga and looking for a way in.

This gentle yoga class is designed to be accessible to a wide range of bodies and abilities. We start first with centering, moving into poses and uncomplicated flows, focusing more on “being” than “doing,” and learning to appreciate and experience that “less can be more.”

The last twenty minutes of class is devoted to meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques) found in Tibetan Self-Healing Yoga. You will learn the Ninefold Purification Breathing which cleanses the subtle channels (nadis) of the body and calms the subtle wind energy. This, in turn, automatically calms the mind and relaxes the heart. This technique is great for experienced and beginning students alike.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Whether you’re a very experienced student, or have never practiced yoga before, this is a great class to learn to incorporate meditation and pranayama.
