Mindful Vinyasa

A moderately challenging class, that builds flexibility
and strength, and promotes deep relaxation 

In my Mindful Vinyasa class, we begin with grounding into the present moment, while noticing and exploring the breath. I’ll have you check in with yourself… to see what’s going on, to notice your mood, and to feel your body.

We’ll slowly flow into poses, placing our body in different shapes, exploring what each posture feels like, and staying attentive to our experience, all while linking the movements with deep, smooth breathing. The class progresses into more vigorous flows – sun salutations, core strengthening, standing and balancing poses, backbends – all while moving slowly and mindfully which helps us be deeply present with our experience. 

During the practice, I will be your guide, but you’ll decide how much to challenge yourself.  My goal is to help you learn to make choices that serve you best on any given day. Choose what feels enjoyable, sparks curiosity, feels integral, and keeps you safe. I will teach you the foundations of alignment, while encouraging you to explore your own unique expression of the poses.

We wind down with cooling postures and deep relaxation, and close by taking our seat, noticing how we feel and how those feelings have changed from before class. It’s quite common to feel revitalized, less stressed, worried, or anxious, and more grounded, peaceful and happy.
